Jesus tells us, "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matt. 11:28-30). St. Philip Lutheran works to affirm and support the LGBTQIA+ community in the Down River region. To welcome all people regardless of gender, race, or sexuality. The LGBT community is too often marginalized and assaulted in organized religion, and so, this congregation fights to overcome the discord many LGBT folk have experienced. We strive to become the welcoming people Christ shapes us to be, a people who truly welcome all who are weary and carrying heavy burdens.
