Michael Meyer, St Philip pastor who pursued RIC affiliation, said, "Affirming the welcoming statement was a 'no brainer' for the congregation: 'As Disciples of Jesus, one either affirms one’s commitment to follow in the Ministry of Jesus or decides not to live this way. Being Baptized calls us to follow Jesus’ welcome for all people.'"

St. Philip is a Reconciling in Christ Congregation!

So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away... All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation 2 Corinthians 5:17-18

We the members of St. Philip Lutheran Church, welcome all who are seeking God.  Further, we welcome into membership all who are, or wish to be, baptized into Christ.  We encourage and welcome active participation, growing in Discipleship to Jesus Christ. As a "reconciling in Christ Congregation" we welcome people of all sexual orientations (straight, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning,) and all gender identities/expressions as fully participating members at St. Philip Lutheran Church, Trenton Michigan.
